We ended the year with a lab holiday party, gift exchange, and our first publication! Congrats to Chad on determining predictive parameters for the critical pH and salt concentration for globular protein phase separation, providing insight into liquid versus solid phase separation, and publishing his work in Biochemistry. Read more about it here.
We are looking forward to 2018 and wish everyone a happy new year!
The group has welcomed lots of new members this Fall semester. Warm (belated) welcome to new graduate students Nick and Vivian, masters student Alex, and undergraduate students Hanan, Marisa, and Paulina.
Congrats to second year students, Justin and Rachel, who successfully passed their qualifying exams!
The group has been busy getting set-up and researching new protein based materials. We had outstanding high school and graduate student researchers join the group over the summer, went on a group hike in the Hudson Highlands, and Allie presented the group's research at the Polymers Gordon Conference and Fall ACS Meeting.
The Obermeyer Research Group will officially launch in January 2017, but is currently accepting new members to start this winter. Interested graduate students and postdocs should e-mail Prof. Obermeyer.
